Is it okay to use AI for your college essay? It depends on what you mean by use. Use AI to write for you? Hard no.
Use AI like Grammarly to proofread? Sure. Claude AI to brainstorm? Okay.
The bottom line is this: you don’t need, nor should you want AI to write for you. Despite its perfection and grammar, it can’t compete with your knowledge of you. Brainstorming is fine. Ghost writing isn’t.
Short answer: Yes and no.
Longer answer: It depends on what you mean by use.
Use AI to write for you? Hard no. Use AI like Grammarly to proofread? Sure. Use claude.ai to brainstorm or help you organize? Okay.
The bottom line is this: you don’t need nor should you want AI to write for you. Despite its perfect grammar execution, it cannot compete with your knowledge of you. As I often say, you are the world’s leading expert on you.
